The Islamic Center of Windsor Locks, also known as ICWL, was established in 2009 to serve the Muslim community in Windsor Locks and the surrounding areas.
ICWL was established to advance the cause of Islam and nurture the religious, educational, and social needs of the community. The center also aimed at fostering the outreach and relations with the greater community around it. The guidelines governing the activities of the center are based on the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
ICWL is conveniently located a few minutes from Bradley International Airport and I-91 and open for the 5 daily prayers, and Friday jumuah prayer. Its structure includes a prayer hall for the men, a prayer hall for the women, a multipurpose area, a kitchen and separate wudu areas for men and women. The center also provides a place for weekly social gatherings, halaqas, daily iftars and taraweeh prayers in Ramadan and Eid prayers and celebrations. The center welcomes all Muslims, and does not allow discrimination based on race, gender, or national origin. ICWL also collaborates with other Islamic centers around the area. The center is a religious not-for-profit organization, with a tax exempt status, 501 (c)(3). All donations are tax exempt in accordance with IRS regulations.
